TRINITY — Uwharrie Middle School is celebrating reading and the upcoming release of a book, “Shaman’s Spark,” written by one of its own, art and yearbook teacher Marcus Lawson.

March 01, 2010 FORSYTH COUNTY – South Forsyth High School and West Forsyth High School were named to the 2010 Advanced Placement Honor Schools roster, which recognized those schools whose students did exceptionally well on the 2009 AP exams. Statewide, only 125 public schools made the grade.

The study, conducted by the University of Wisconsin’s Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, looked at more than 3,000 counties in all 50 states, measuring them in health and longevity.
